A few hours after the court hearing on Tuesday in Miami, Yaliet Caridad Carvajal, the eldest daughter of El Taiger, posted a heartbreaking message on Instagram that succinctly captured the pain of a family still awaiting justice.
"Today was another very difficult day for me. Seeing the person who took my dad's life smiling while my family and I continue to grieve him broke my heart," wrote the 12-year-old girl from her account @yaliet_carvajal, accompanying the text with a photograph from her father's wake, where the caption read "The Sentiment of a Country."
The trigger for the message was the appearance of Damián Valdez Galloso before the Miami-Dade criminal court, his first physical presence in front of a tribunal since 2024. According to reports from the hearing, the accused appeared defiant during the session, and at the end, he was seen smiling and engaging in a relaxed conversation with his defense attorney, a scene that caused discomfort among those present.
Yaliet did not hide her reaction to that image. "Hearing them say that this murderer is innocent hurts me deeply because my dad is no longer with us, and no one can return his hugs, his advice, or all the love he gave us," she added in her post.
The girl also spoke on behalf of her siblings. "I am only 12 years old. I don't understand many things about adults, but I do know that I miss my dad every day. My siblings Ana, Lucas, Sofía, and I are growing up with a huge void that no one will ever be able to fill."
The post concluded with a direct appeal to her followers: "I only ask everyone reading this message not to forget my dad. I ask you to join us in prayer, to share his story, and to continue seeking justice."
The post accumulated over 6,700 reactions and 449 comments within a few hours, with messages of support from fans and close figures of the artist, including the rapper The Yabo, who left a brief "Princess" accompanied by a heart.
In the judicial sphere, the trial against Valdez Galloso —originally scheduled for September 15, 2026— has been ruled out for that date following the hearing on Tuesday. The court indicated that the proceedings will likely take place between February and March of 2027, with the prosecution preparing between 15 and 20 witnesses and evidence from three police departments. The next status hearing is scheduled for September 2, 2026.
Yaliet closed her message with a heartfelt promise to her father: "Dad, we promise that we will never stop fighting for you. You will always live in our hearts. We love you and miss you every day."
