The Cuban model and influencer Lisandra Silva publicly bid farewell to her father, Carlos Silva, who passed away on July 18 at the age of 77, with two heartfelt messages on Instagram that moved her followers around the world.
The first announcement came through her Instagram profile on July 19, a day after his passing. In it, Lisandra confirmed her father's details—born on March 12, 1949—and dedicated words that summarized a lifetime of admiration: "You were the most noble, honorable, kind, hardworking, incorruptible, honest, diligent, charming, intelligent, cultured, educated, and philosophical man. But above all, you were the best father a daughter could have."
In that same message, the influencer described her father as her soulmate and asked him to fly high: "Like a drop that returns to the ocean, fly high, beautiful father." She also noted that his legacy will live on in his grandchildren: "Your legacy continues in Noah and Leiah, your beautiful grandchildren, and in the children of their children."
The images accompanying that first post included a photograph of two intertwined hands—one with a hospital bracelet from the CatSalut system of Catalonia—which suggested that Carlos Silva had been hospitalized in Spain before his death. The cause of his passing was not publicly disclosed.
The post garnered over 55,000 likes and nearly 3,000 comments, a massive response that reflected the affection of Lisandra's followers for her and her family.
Days later, the influencer shared another message in which she approached the loss from a more intimate and reflective angle. "There isn't a single day that goes by without missing you, without thinking of you, without hearing your voice, or without feeling that you are with me," she wrote.
Far from sinking into sorrow, Lisandra expressed that the loss has made her stronger: "Now that you are no longer physically here, I feel within me more courage, more strength, and a greater desire to take on the world. I am no longer burdened by the opinions of those who do not share my ideas or my decisions, because in the end, it is my life."
Born in Havana and residing in Chile for several years, Lisandra has amassed over two million followers on Instagram and is one of the most followed Cuban figures on social media. She has two children, Noah Gabriel and Leiah Livli, from her relationship with Chilean dancer Raúl Peralta, from whom she separated in April 2024.
The second post gathered more than 27,000 likes and concluded with a promise that encapsulated the spirit of the tribute: "I will follow your footsteps, honor your example, and carry your legacy in everything I do. I will live authentically, without fear and to the fullest, as you taught me. I love you, my father. Today, tomorrow, and always."
