A Mexican model and influencer set social media ablaze with a series of posts suggesting that J Balvin was unfaithful to his partner, Argentine model Valentina Ferrer, while she was pregnant with their first child.
The protagonist of the controversy is Melanie Pavola, originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León, with over 2.5 million followers on Instagram. It all started a few days ago when Pavola posted a series of old photographs alongside the Colombian singer in what appears to be a dressing room, accompanied by the song "Ambiente" by the artist himself and suggestive messages that her followers quickly interpreted.
The post surpassed 18,000 likes and generated over 1,700 comments, but the story didn’t end there.
She posted a story on Instagram detailing her version of events. According to her, the singer invited her to New York and, at the end of the night, made an unexpected confession: "He invited me to New York once, we made love, and when we were done, he said to me: 'I have Valentina pregnant'. I grabbed my things and left."
Pavola also stated that after learning about the situation, he contacted Valentina Ferrer directly to inform her of what had happened and to apologize.
But the young woman did not stop there; Pavola posted a new reel accompanied by a message that left little room for ambiguity: "If he doesn't care, I care even less. I wish you the best, blessings." In the images of the reel, she shared several videos and pictures of herself with J Balvin in various settings, implying that their relationship was not casual.
In light of what happened, social media has been divided between those who defend Pavola and those who criticize her for revealing now a fact that, according to her own account, occurred several years ago—the announcement of Valentina's pregnancy was made in April 2021—to which she responded by standing her ground and continuing with her comments.
J Balvin and Valentina Ferrer have been together for several years and have a son together, Río, who was born in June 2021. The couple has publicly projected an image of family stability: in January 2025, the singer performed the song "Río"—dedicated to his family—in Paris, and Valentina cried tears of joy during the concert.
Until this Thursday, neither J Balvin nor Valentina Ferrer has made any public statement regarding the allegations. The couple reappeared on social media following the controversy, but did not address the topic.
