The Cuban influencer Diliamne Jacob, known as La Dura (@diliamnejacob), set her social media ablaze by publicly denouncing that several luxury items were stolen from her checked luggage after a recent flight.
Through her Instagram stories, the content creator recounted the moment of discovery: "After unpacking my suitcases, I realized that they had been opened and several valuable items were missing. I hold the airline responsible for the loss of a Chanel bag, a Louis Vuitton vanity with all my accessories, and high-value gold garments with diamonds that were taken from my luggage."
The post, accompanied by an angry face emoji and the company's name crossed out in red, quickly became a magnet for similar testimonies among its followers.
A user reported that in June, she traveled to Cancun with the same airline, and they also opened her luggage: "It seems to have become a custom with the airline," she wrote. Another follower recounted that less than a month ago, her headphones, makeup, and perfume were stolen from a cabin suitcase that the staff forced her to check due to lack of space: "It seems to be the new trend in America," she stated.
A third testimony was particularly concerning: a traveler reported that all her prescribed medications—which she needs to take daily—were stolen, along with a Lancôme bag, two Jo Malone perfumes, and other valuable belongings.
In response to those who pointed out that she should carry her most valuable items in her hand luggage, La Dura clarified: “I must clarify that I travel with many valuable things, which is why I always prioritize my hand luggage for the most valuable items, such as my Hermès bags. Still, when you travel with so many important pieces, it's not always easy to decide what to take with you in the cabin.”
The incident occurs after La Dura returned to Miami after her vacation in Greece with her partner Jorge Carlos Pajón, a trip during which her looks with Chanel bags in Mykonos went viral on social media.
The influencer is known for her extensive collection of luxury brand handbags, which includes pieces from Hermès, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton accumulated over the years.
