Georgina Rodríguez and Cristiano Ronaldo married on August 11 at their summer home in Cascais, Portugal, in a ceremony that was so intimate and simple that it surprised everyone who was expecting a luxurious wedding with a red carpet.

The complete details of the link were revealed by the couple themselves in an exclusive for the summer digital cover of Vogue, featuring photographs by renowned photographer Juergen Teller, chosen by Georgina because, in her own words, "his photographs are art. I didn't want the typical boring family album. I wanted an artistic one that would last forever."

The date was not a coincidence: that very day marked exactly ten years since their eyes first met in the Gucci store on Serrano Street in Madrid, where Georgina worked as a sales assistant.

Far from palaces or castles, the couple chose the most everyday space they have: the table around which they have breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. "In 30 years, I want the kids to think: something wonderful happened at this table: our parents' wedding vows," Georgina explained to the magazine.

The only guests were their five children —Cristiano Jr., Eva, Mateo, Alana Martina, and Bella Esmeralda— who were also coordinated with their parents and were, in Georgina's words, "the main characters, just as they are in our daily lives."

Neither a wedding dress nor a grand gala ceremony. Georgina wore a silk faille skirt set in white from Gucci paired with matching satin shoes and a stunning Chopard necklace featuring a central 50-carat diamond. Cristiano opted for a custom light beige cotton suit, also from Gucci. "I didn't want us to have to dress up for a day that was so simple for us," the model clarified.

The choice of the designer was a nod filled with meaning. Demna, artistic director of Gucci, summarized it in Vogue: "It was incredibly special to dress Georgina and Cristiano for this moment, knowing that their love story began in a Gucci store in Madrid. There's something very romantic about it: a beautiful closing of the circle, almost like a modern fairy tale."

The next day, the family traveled to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, an hour away from Cascais, to receive a private blessing, and then attended a mass at the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows. "I needed nothing more: my husband, my children, our home, our faith, and our love," Georgina confessed after the visit.

There was no honeymoon: Cristiano had to return to Saudi Arabia for the start of the season with Al-Nassr FC. The footballer took it in his usual philosophical manner: "Every day is a honeymoon." He added something that encapsulates the change he feels well: "The simple fact of being husband and wife puts you in a different league."

Regarding the future, the couple does not rule out expanding the family, although Georgina views it calmly: "Another baby right now would be too hectic at home. But when the little ones are 15 or 16, we will still be young, so why not?"

The day after the ceremony, Georgina captured the sentiment with a phrase that says it all: "It was exactly as I had imagined: intimate, full of love, and with our family as the undeniable star. I couldn't hold back my tears." She also left the door open for a second celebration: "In the future, we will have a grand wedding to celebrate it with family and friends."
