A Cuban delivery person named Yaime Moreno has become a sensation on TikTok with a video just seconds long in which she confesses the fear that haunts her every time she delivers a package: it's not that she's being filmed doing her job poorly, but rather that a camera might catch her tripping.
"I live with the constant fear that a customer is going to record a video with their Ring camera while I'm delivering a package. Not because of how I handed over the package, but because of the things that happen to me while delivering it," begins Yaime with a naturalness that has captivated half of the internet.
To illustrate her distress, the young woman resorted to a classic Cuban expression: "I just tripped over a boniato —in case you don't know what it is, it's a stumble— and I almost opened the client's door and had lunch with him inside there." She added with resignation: "And that happens every day, every day. If it's not a boniato, it's the box I tripped over. Oh my God!"
The clip accumulated over 492,000 views, 30,000 likes, and more than 1,000 comments, sparking a wave of supportive confessions in the comments section that became, in itself, a spectacle.
One user recounted that during his time as an Amazon delivery driver, he had to climb a tree to escape from three Dobermans, and the owner came out with his phone, leaving him unsure if the video was recorded. Another shared how he slipped in the rain because he refused to let go of his phone: "I had the biggest fall of my life at the age of 35." A female user mentioned that she hit her head on a hanging flower pot on a customer's balcony—camera included—to which Yaime responded without hesitation: "I have a similar story with a lantern."
The Cubanism "boniato" also sparked its own debate in the comments. One user claimed they had never heard that expression in Cuba, and Yaime shut them down with three words and an emoji: "You are not Cuban."
Even a customer joined the thread with a comment that captures the spirit of the video: "Don't worry, I won't publish it. I respect your privacy, but believe me, everyone in the house is dying of laughter."
Yaime is not the first Cuban delivery person to go viral with the challenges of the job. A Cuban delivery person warned her customers about loose dogs in March 2025, and a delivery person went viral after mistaking a ceramic dog for a real one captured by a security camera. Cubans working on delivery platforms in the United States have found TikTok to be the perfect space to transform the stress of their routes into collective comedy.
What Yaime perhaps didn’t expect was that her greatest fear—appearing on social media due to a Ring camera—would come true in the most ironic way possible: going viral all on her own, without any customer needing to post anything.
