Salma Hayek decided that turning 60 should not be celebrated discreetly, and she has plenty of reasons for it. This week, several days after blowing out the candles, the Mexican actress published on her Instagram a carousel of photos by the sea that left half of the internet speechless — and the other half searching for very enthusiastic words.

The caption was as simple as it was powerful: 60 and grateful ("60 and grateful"). The images, however, conveyed much more: Hayek is reclining on the shore with her long, dark hair soaked, smiling with a joy that requires no filters, and seen from behind in the ocean with her arms raised to the sky, in what several outlets described candidly as a dip in her birthday suit.

The post garnered over 720,000 "likes" in the first 12 hours, and the comments were a mix of genuine admiration, humor, and a bit of collective disbelief.

"Is Salma Hayek 60 years old? Incredible, her beauty hasn’t changed a bit!" wrote one user, receiving 1,392 reactions in support. Another was more poetic: "60 and ageless… Father Time must be in love with you."

Among the celebrities who reacted were Priyanka Chopra, Cara Delevingne, Ricky Martin, Emily Ratajkowski, Anya Taylor-Joy, Penélope Cruz, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Jeremy Renner, among others.

What newcomers might not know is that this is not new at all: Hayek has a well-established tradition of celebrating every birthday on Instagram with swimsuit photos. In 2024, for her 58th birthday, she posted what she referred to as a birthday bikini dump and made sure to clarify that none of the images were old photos. In 2025, at 59, she repeated the custom with a red bikini on a boat. This year, at 60, she raised the stakes with a photoshoot in the sea.

The party itself took place on September 2nd at Villa Médici, Rome, with her husband François-Henri Pinault, her daughter Valentina, and friends like Rita Ora and Taika Waititi. However, Hayek apparently felt that a single celebration was not enough for such a significant date.

Born in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, the actress is one of the most influential Latin figures in Hollywood. Her role in Frida (2002) earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress, making her the first Mexican to achieve that distinction. Decades later, she continues to show that celebrities in bikinis with millions of likes have her as one of their most consistent representatives.

"60 and perfect," summed up a verified follower in the comments. It's hard to disagree with that.
