A Cuban mother became the unwitting star of one of the funniest videos of the week after being filmed by her son while riding a roller coaster, reacting in a way that has already garnered over 57,000 likes on the young man's Instagram, @chrissviza.
What happened exceeded all expectations.
At the beginning of the video, the woman seems to handle the situation with some calm, but within seconds panic overtakes her and unleashes a torrent of the purest Cuban slang. "No! No! Why did you put me on this? See what I'm telling you! Just to not enjoy anything! Enough!" is heard in the recording.
The phrase "Why did they put me on this?" —expressed in its colloquial Cuban variant— was the one that resonated the most among the more than 700 users who left comments on the post, many of whom instantly identified with the woman's speech and humor.
The video adds a new installment to a trend that has been captivating social media for years: Cubans and their epic reactions to amusement park attractions.
The pattern repeats with an almost foolproof formula: genuine panic, unmistakable Cuban slang, and a spontaneity that disarms any audience. In April 2024, a Cuban woman in Miami went viral shouting "I'm going to die here" on a fair ride. In January 2025, a Cuban regretted it mid-roller coaster alongside his wife with a memorable "Oh my goodness, Holy Mary, man!" and the promise that this would be "the last time in my life" that he would ride something like that.
In June 2025, two Cuban women sparked another viral moment with their "Oh Lord, forgive me!", and just a few weeks prior, in August, Dana la Cubana became a trending topic at Parque Warner Madrid with her persistent "you're not leaving, you're not leaving, you're not leaving."
The combination of genuine panic, Cuban vocabulary, and familial complicity turned the video into a reminder of why these types of reactions never go out of style: "So as not to enjoy anything," as the protagonist aptly summarized.
