Far from staying silent in the face of criticism, the user Isa (@leyanetcalixto on TikTok) decided to respond in the only way she could think of: announcing that she bought a second house in Holguín.
"We have received a lot of criticism since I announced that I bought my first house in Cuba, and here I want to show you that I was buying the second one," says the creator at the beginning of the clip, which lasts only 17 seconds.
The property, located on the upper floor of the same building that he had previously acquired, is currently undergoing renovations.
In the comments, Isa clarified the distribution: "One is below and the other is above."
The Cuban woman, who has been living in the United States for four years, had already caused a stir in July when she showed her first rundown house in Holguín, a video that garnered 75,000 views and over 2,600 likes.
In the new clip, he hinted that he will soon show the interior and that they are finishing up "installing the missing plate."
Reactions to the second video were quite varied: "What a stunning house," wrote one user, while another humorously remarked, "They're building a condo."
But negative comments were not lacking either. A user wrote: "What an incredible mansion, I wouldn't take it if it were given to me." Isa replied with a smile: "Don't worry, I'm not going to give it away."
A supporter came to his defense: "I am astonished by the negative comments from men; it's not easy, it's envy."
Isa's case is part of a growing trend on TikTok: emigrated Cubans purchasing dilapidated properties on the island—funded by their dollar savings—and documenting each stage of the renovation for thousands of followers.
Similar cases have gone viral in recent months, such as the one involving an 18-year-old who bought a house for 2,500 dollars and surpassed 1.4 million views.
Isa closed the video with a direct invitation to those interested in following the process: "Follow me if you want to see this process."
