The Cuban singer Seidy La Niña sparked a wave of reactions on Instagram after posting photos in which she appeared unshaven in her intimate areas, a decision that, as she confessed, almost didn’t see the light of day.
In a reel published on Wednesday, the artist was straightforward: "I was about to delete the photo with the hairs from my *****, because what is disgusting to many, is fabulous to others." The video surpassed 334,000 views and garnered over 12,800 likes and 1,000 comments in just a few hours.
The original post, accompanied by the text “The wisdom to know the difference #healing”, had already caused quite a stir before Seidy decided to speak on the matter.
Far from regretting it, the singer humorously revealed that the photo brought her an avalanche of private messages from men expressing their desire for her in the boldest ways.
The comments from her followers reflected completely opposing views. While some demanded that she remove her body hair with out-of-place and extremely aggressive phrases, others defended her with arguments about naturalness and bodily autonomy: "Having hair is natural and healthy. Associating it with dirtiness or a lack of femininity is a myth created by the beauty industry. Everyone should have the right to decide about their own body without having to conform to external standards."
Some followers even turned to history to contextualize the debate: "According to my grandmother, if someone was seen shaved, it was because they had pubic lice, so that trend is recent. Before, having body hair was normal."
The controversy didn't end there. In a third video posted on her profile, Seidy joked about the idea of opening an academy on OnlyFans to teach how to monetize this type of content: "I have the power to convince you that my hair is valuable. And since my hair is valuable, yours is too... They are different, they have different textures."
This is not the first time the artist has sparked debate by showing herself without filters. In September 2024, she had already posted natural photos defending her imperfections, and in November of the same year, caused a stir with images in which she sported a beard and mustache. Last year, she even confessed that she felt "bad and guilty" due to the constant criticism of her body.
