The Cuban actress Yany Prado once again caught attention on social media after appearing in a performance of "Después de todo," the classic by Los Van Van, popularized by Yeny Valdés, during the celebrations for Mexican Independence.
The video posted on Instagram by the account @deliciasdeyuya_roma last Wednesday shows the artist singing with ease and emotion fragments like "Tell her that your love doesn’t interest me, that I’ll gift you with paper and all" and "The love I had for you was beautiful and true, but it’s over my darling."
The audience's reaction was immediate: at the time of this report, the video had garnered over 34,700 "likes" and 1,919 comments, with many fans favorably comparing her performance to the well-known version by Yeny Valdés.
The post that accompanied the video left no room for doubt about the impact it had: "Was that Yeni? No, it was @yanypradoofficial joining us once again on this special day, showing that besides being an excellent actress, she could also be a top-notch singer."
“After All” is part of the album Chapeando (2005) and is regarded as one of the most emblematic pieces from Yeny Valdés's time with the legendary Cuban orchestra, where the vocalist remained for 16 years until her departure in 2017.
This is not the first viral moment for Yany Prado in the music scene. In September 2025, she had already impressed by singing this same song on the street, and in July of that year, she starred in another viral video in Mexico City alongside street musicians.
The actress, born in Cuba on January 2, 1991, emigrated to Mexico as a child and trained at the CEA school of Televisa, where she built a career that led her to roles in telenovelas such as The Double Life of Estela Carrillo and I Am the Queen.
Her international breakthrough came with the character of Gina in the series Sky Rojo, from Netflix, a production that aired from 2021 to 2023 and established her as one of the most recognized Cuban actresses outside the Island.
In recent years, Yany Prado has also built a strong presence on social media, where she combines her acting skills with demonstrations of musical and dance talent, connecting especially with the Cuban community residing in Mexico.
