Families in Miami-Dade will have a new free option to enjoy the fall on Saturday, October 10, when Tropical Park hosts a festival featuring pumpkins, games, crafts, performances, and recreational activities for people of all ages and abilities.

The Harvest & Wellness Family Festival, organized by the Miami-Dade Department of Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Westchester Cultural Arts Center, located within Tropical Park.

The entry will be free and, as confirmed by Miami-Dade County in the official event announcement, there will be free pumpkins available for the first 200 families that participate.

Pumpkins, games, and activities for families

The program announced by the county includes a pumpkin patch, attractions, arts and crafts activities, performances, and food options.

There will also be information about recreational programs in Miami-Dade and activities related to adaptive sports.

The announcement presents the festival as an activity for families to enjoy while also getting to know services and organizations in the community.

The free pumpkins for the first 200 families are sponsored by Walmart and Home Depot. As the quantity is limited, those who are especially interested in receiving one should keep in mind that they will be available only while supplies last.

A festival designed for people with disabilities

One of the main elements of the event will be its inclusive nature.

The organization is managed by the Therapeutic Recreation and Inclusion Unit of Miami-Dade Parks, a unit dedicated to expanding recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

The county expressly highlights that the festival will include activities and resources for people with disabilities and their families, in addition to information about recreational programs and adapted sports.

The initiative is organized in collaboration with Roxy Theatre Group and the Westchester Cultural Arts Center, along with various organizations and businesses from the community.

When and where will the festival be?

The Harvest & Wellness Family Festival will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The venue will be the Westchester Cultural Arts Center at Tropical Park, located at:

7930 SW 40th Street
Miami, Florida 33155

The official announcement presents the event as free and open to the public. The Miami-Dade statement does not specify that access requires prior registration.

The announced free admission applies to participation in the festival. While there will be food available throughout the day, the county does not indicate that the food or products offered will be free.

Adaptations and Accessibility

Those who need materials in accessible formats, sign language interpreters, or other accommodations to participate can request them from Miami-Dade Parks.

The county requests that these requests be made with at least five days' notice through the ADA accessibility coordinator of Miami-Dade Parks, at the phone number 305-755-7848. TTY users can also use the Florida Relay service by dialing 711.

In addition to the fall activities, the festival aims to connect families with recreational programs, services, and local organizations, turning the day into a blend of entertainment and community resources.

Updated information about the festival and other programs can be found on the official Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces page.
