The company Pacearth Direct has recalled approximately 110,550 swing seats sold through Amazon in the United States after receiving at least 30 reports of falls, resulting in nine injuries. The alert, published on October 8, 2026, by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), warns that various parts of these swings can break during use and cause serious injuries.

The affected items are the U-shaped swing seats from the PACEARTH brand, sold on Amazon.com between May 2017 and June 2026. The official CPSC notification, identified by the recall number 27-019, indicates that they were sold for prices ranging from 27 to 57 dollars, both individually and in sets of two.

What danger do removed swings pose?

According to the federal agency, the seat itself, the carabiners or metal connecting links, and the textile straps that support the swing can break. A failure of any of these parts while someone is swinging can result in a fall.

Pacearth Direct has received at least 30 reports of falls and nine injuries, including fractures, head injuries, and bruises, according to data included in the CPSC statement. This is not just a hypothetical risk: the recall was announced after these incidents were recorded.

The authorities' instructions are clear: immediately cease using the affected seats, even if they appear to be in good condition at first glance and have never shown any issues.

How to identify the affected PACEARTH seats

The withdrawal includes the U-type seats from PACEARTH, available in various colors, including green, blue, pink, red, and turquoise. Among its features are the chains coated with yellow plastic and yellow securing straps, accompanied by metal connectors, to install the swing on outdoor play structures or tree branches.

They were sold as a single seat or a package of two units. The official information does not limit the warning to just one of those colors: owners should compare the brand, design, and components of their item with the photos and description of the federal notice.

It is important to clarify that the measure does not affect all swings sold on Amazon, but rather the PACEARTH models described in the recall from Pacearth Direct.

How to request a full refund: step-by-step instructions

The CPSC informs that consumers with one of the recalled seats can obtain a full refund by contacting Pacearth Direct directly. The announced procedure is as follows:

  1. Stop using the swing immediately and prevent others from using it.
  2. Write "RECALLED" on the seat with a permanent marker.
  3. Take a photograph that clearly shows both the written word and the PACEARTH logo.
  4. Send the image to the email recall@pacearth.com para tramitar la devolución del dinero con la empresa.

The official contact announced is recall@pacearth.com. The federal notification does not set a specific deadline for requesting a refund nor does it indicate that it must be managed through Amazon. Therefore, it is advisable to follow the instructions published by the CPSC and consult Pacearth Direct with any questions, rather than assuming there will be an automatic credit.

What to do if you bought the swing years ago?

The sale of these products has been extended for more than nine years, from May 2017 to June 2026. For this reason, the notice is also relevant for those who have swings installed for a long time in their yards and gardens.

If you don't remember exactly when the purchase was made, you can review the Amazon order history to identify the brand and compare it with the notice. However, that a seat visually resembles the recalled ones is not enough to claim that it is included: it must be compared with the official description and, if in doubt, consult the manufacturer.

The seats were manufactured in China, and the company responsible for the recall, Pacearth Direct, is based in City of Industry, California, according to the CPSC.

The recalls of children's and household products once again highlight the safety of items sold on major platforms and stores in the United States. In July, CiberCuba reported on another recall of items intended for children, in that case, sandals from Target, due to a different risk.

The recommendation for those who have a PACEARTH swing is to check as soon as possible if it is among the affected models, and if so, to discontinue its use and request a refund. The original notice, with images of the product, remains available on the official CPSC website.
