The look that the Cuban comedian and influencer Carnota showcased on the blue carpet of the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards was not an impulsive decision: behind that outfit, which sparked memes, criticisms, and imitations, two professional Cuban stylists, Richard O. Piloto (@kiko_style90) and Yoandry Alonso (@raich_delmor), were at work.
The gala, held on October 22 at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, showcased a fashion proposal that did not go unnoticed: a black suit with a striking draped white satin panel on the torso, wide-leg trousers, a sculptural-cut metallic silver corset, a mini Jacquemus "Le Chiquito" bag, and Maison Margiela Tabi-style shoes, all complemented with Cartier accessories. The blazer was custom-made by The House of Suits Miami, a tailoring shop located in Coral Gables.
Carnota, whose real name is José Ernesto González Carnota, publicly thanked the invitation from Billboard Latin: "There are moments that one dreams of, and when they arrive, it’s hard to explain how it feels. This was one of those moments. Eternally grateful for this experience that I carry in my heart."
Memes arrived quickly and in abundance. One of the most shared edited Carnota's face to resemble a flower within the white accessory he was wearing, humorously referencing his likeness to a vase. Another compared his image in Cuba —with a dining tray and the logos of Tele Rebelde and Cubavisión— to his image in the USA, thin, blonde, and in formal attire in front of the Telemundo logo.
Even the influencer Kenny Robert tagged him directly with the text "Your moment has arrived" while mimicking him with his usual sarcasm on social media.
In response to the avalanche of opinions, stylist Richard O. Piloto answered with an Instagram reel that summed up his stance in one sentence: "Speaking without judgment is the daily reality of our community."
This is not the first time Carnota has relied on this duo of stylists for a high-profile event. The three had already collaborated at Premio Lo Nuestro 2026, held in February of the same year, which indicates a solid working relationship.
The magazine People en Español included Carnota among the most daring outfits on the blue carpet of the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2026, a recognition that, beyond aesthetic debate, confirms that the look achieved its goal: to stand out at one of the most visible events in Latin music.
