At 8:00 PM, local Cuban time, the informal currency market in Cuba closes the day this Saturday, October 24, 2026, with both the dollar and the euro on the rise. The US dollar ends the day averaging 834 Cuban pesos, four more than in the previous session, while the euro climbs to 925 pesos, six point five more than yesterday. The MLC, for its part, is around 585 pesos, although this figure should be taken as indicative given the low volume of transactions supporting it. You can follow the evolution at .

The U.S. dollar is trading at 834 Cuban pesos (CUP) at the close of this day. This represents an increase of 4 pesos compared to the previous day, when it closed at 830 CUP. From a weekly perspective, the North American currency has risen by 29 pesos from the 805 CUP recorded seven days ago, which equates to an increase of 3.6%. In the last month, the dollar has climbed from 728 pesos, although it is worth noting that some of this variation may reflect adjustments in the index methodology rather than just market movement. Over the past 30 days, the highest recorded value is indeed today’s 834 CUP, while the lowest was 728 CUP. The demand for dollars remains high among those seeking to protect their savings against the depreciation of the peso.

The euro closes the day at 925 Cuban pesos (CUP), its highest level in the last 30 days. This represents an increase of 6.5 pesos compared to the previous day, when it stood at 919 CUP. In the past week, the European currency has gained 21.5 pesos from the 904 CUP recorded seven days ago. The monthly minimum for the euro was registered at 830 CUP. It is established as the most expensive currency in the Cuban parallel market, exceeding the dollar by 91 pesos and consolidating its dominant position.

The MLC closes around 585 Cuban pesos (CUP), although this figure should be treated with caution due to the limited number of transactions that support it during this time frame. Compared to the previous day, it has increased by 15 pesos from the 570 CUP of yesterday. However, in the past week, it has decreased by 66.5 pesos from the 652 CUP of seven days ago. The maximum for the MLC in the last 30 days was 742 CUP and the minimum was 457 CUP. Without physical existence, its use is limited to the state-run businesses that accept it, which restricts its circulation compared to cash currencies.

  • Exchange rate of the dollar USD to CUP: 834 CUP.
  • Exchange rate of the euro EUR to CUP: 925 CUP.
  • Exchange rate from MLC to CUP: 585 CUP (indicative value, limited data).

The official exchange rate of the Central Bank of Cuba (Segment III), at 743 CUP per dollar and 832 CUP per euro, remains well below the values that prevail in everyday practice in the informal currency market. The gap between both markets exceeds 90 pesos in the case of the dollar and approaches 93 pesos for the euro.

Exchange Rate Evolution

Although Segment III was introduced as a more flexible currency mechanism, its official rate remains far from that of the informal market and fails to meet the real demand for foreign exchange from the population. In the past month, the official dollar rose from 676 to 743 CUP, and the official euro from 770 to 832 CUP, a surge that has not managed to close the gap with the parallel market.

In a scenario of sustained inflation, low state salaries, and increasing partial dollarization of the economy, every variation in the informal market directly impacts internal prices and the purchasing power of Cubans.

The Exchange Rate of CiberCuba is an index of the informal Cuban market created from the automated analysis of thousands of currency trading posts in Telegram and Facebook groups. The calculation filters out atypical offers and spam messages, weighs each transaction according to its recency, and consolidates a representative value that is updated several times a day.
