Gift from Cuba

A gift full of love from Cuba! A pregnant Cuban woman who shares her life on TikTok under the name Suri (@suri971030) thrilled her followers by showing the first gift she received for her baby, sent from the island by her father, her stepmother, and her little brother.

In a video shared on TikTok, the young woman excitedly opened the package sent by her family and discovered a beautiful pair of handmade shoes, an embroidered blanket, and a pair of flip-flops that her stepmother had promised her during a previous visit to Cuba.

"This is unique and it's the first gift my baby will receive," Suri said as she showcased each detail, all thoughtfully prepared and in shades of pink.

But what excited the future mom the most were not the gifts themselves, but the meaning they hold for her, especially considering the distance that separates her from her loved ones in Cuba.

"I love you all very much, and this is gold for me because they won't even be able to see me pregnant," the young woman confessed, clearly moved by her family's gesture.

Suri mentioned that she had a ticket purchased to travel to Cuba, but ultimately decided to cancel it. Although she plans to visit the island in December, she admitted that she is concerned about making the trip while pregnant.

One of the most special details of the package was the flip-flops sent by his stepmother, whom he affectionately calls "aunt." As he recalled, during her last visit to Cuba, she had promised to send them, and she finally kept her word.

The Cuban woman couldn't hide her happiness as she showed the first blanket and the first little shoes of her baby, memories she will cherish dearly because they come from her family.

"The first little blanket and the tiny shoes for my baby, his first little gift, and the first to give it to him are his grandfather, his uncle, and my aunt. This is gold to me," she said excitedly.

Along with the video, Suri also shared some words of gratitude: “A little gift filled with so much love, from Cuba. Thank you for being present at every moment, even being 90 miles away. I love you infinitely.”

Her story is reminiscent of that of another Cuban who broke down in tears upon receiving a package from Cuba containing handmade baby clothes crafted by her grandmother, after several years of being unable to reunite with her family.

The gesture of a Cuban mother living in Milan who sent her parents in Cuba clothes of her son infused with his scent also touched hearts on social media, allowing them to feel a little closer to their grandson despite the distance.

Another similar story was that of a Cuban family that received special news through a package sent from abroad, another example of how small gestures help to keep family ties alive despite emigration.
