Two members of the Cuban project Fuera de la Caja reported that the police summoned them to appear this Friday at the station on Aguilera Street, in the 10 de Octubre municipality of Havana, in what they described as part of a wave of repression against activists and independent content creators in Cuba.
In the video, Mauro Reigosa Pérez recalled a recent summons to the activist Anthony Martínez, and the detentions of independent journalists Yoani Sánchez and Camila Acosta, as well as the collaborator from the portal CubaNet, Adelth Bonne Gamboa.
"We are experiencing a wave of repression against all Cubans who create content or engage in political activism," stated the spokesperson for the collective in the video, which garnered over 104,000 views in just a few hours.
"All of us who speak the political truth about this country are being harassed," he added.
"Wish us luck and let's hope that all these abuses against us activists come to an end soon," expressed Karel Daniel Hernández Bosques, the other young man mentioned.
The report comes at the end of a particularly intense week for independent activism on the Island. Camila Acosta, also from the independent CubaNet, was arrested on Tuesday while she was on her way to a veterinary appointment and spent hours in a detention cell. Her phone was destroyed.
Adelth Bonne Gamboa was detained the previous day in Santos Suárez, interrogated for about 45 minutes, and fined 3,000 pesos under Decree-Law 370. His computer, phone, camera, tripods, headphones, and microphone were confiscated.
On Wednesday, Yoani Sánchez was detained by State Security upon leaving her home in Nuevo Vedado and was held for nearly nine hours. Authorities attribute to her an alleged crime against the constitutional order.
Fuera de la Caja is a collective founded in January 2026 in the Cerro municipality of Havana, comprised of Karel Daniel Hernández Bosques, Amanda Beatriz Andrés Navarro, Abel Alejandro Andrés Navarro, and Mauro Reigos Pérez, young individuals in their twenties who produce videos, theater, and digital content with liberal or libertarian positions, identified by red caps featuring the slogan "Make Cuba Great Again."
It is not the first time the group has faced this kind of pressure: on July 2, Amanda and Abel Andrés Navarro were detained for more than eight hours at that same Aguilera unit.
In October, the regime sentenced member Anna Sofía Benítez Silvente and her mother Caridad Silvente to two years of restricted freedom for publishing images of a Ministry of the Interior agent.
The activist Anthony Martínez, mentioned in the video, has been summoned by the authorities at least three times before November, most recently on October fifth.
The Cuban Observatory of Human Rights documented more than 3,000 repressive actions in Cuba between January and September of this year.
