Revolico is the leading classified ads portal in Cuba. On its pages, Cubans can promote the buying and selling of houses, appliances, cars, and other vehicles, as well as post job offers or advertise products and services on the island.
This website was founded in December 2007. Its creator is the Cuban Hiram Centelles, a computer engineer graduated from the "José Antonio Echeverría" Technological University of Havana (CUJAE), who partnered with Carlos Javier Peña Díaz as a co-founder of the project.
Since its inception, this platform was very functional, which led to its widespread use and rapid popularity in Cuba. Three months after its founding, the Cuban government blocked access to the site from the island. However, the creators of this website found various ways to reach their users.
One of the features that allowed them to succeed was that it did not require readers to be connected to the Internet to access the website's content. Once downloaded on a computer, Revolico could facilitate contact between clients and buyers, similar to consulting newspaper ads.
In 2011, Revolico was established as a company based in Córdoba, Spain. It was not until June 2016 that the platform was unblocked by the government on the island.
Currently, Revolico is consolidating its leadership as the main classifieds page used by Cubans.
