Revolico is the leading classified ads portal in Cuba. On its pages, Cubans can promote the buying or selling of houses, appliances, cars, and other vehicles, as well as advertise job offers or products and services on the island.
This website was founded in December 2007. Its creator is the Cuban Hiram Centelles, a computer engineer graduated from the "José Antonio Echeverría" Technological University of Havana (CUJAE), who had Carlos Javier Peña Díaz as a partner and co-founder of the project.
Since its origins, this platform was highly functional, which led to its widespread use and quick popularity in Cuba. Three months after its founding, the Cuban government blocked access to the site from the island. However, the creators of this website found various ways to reach their users.
One of the characteristics that allowed them to succeed was that it did not require readers to be connected to the Internet to access the web's content. Once downloaded on a computer, Revolico could facilitate contact between clients and buyers, much like consulting newspaper ads.
In 2011, Revolico was established as a company based in Córdoba, Spain. It was not until June 2016 that the platform stopped being blocked by the government on the island.
Currently, Revolico solidifies its leadership as the primary classifieds website used by Cubans.
