Chicharrones are consumed in Cuba at any time of the year. But if you go to a New Year's party, you can be sure there will be chicharrones. If you're having a few beers at home, nothing beats some chicharrones. And if you run out of oil, don't let yourself go without fat; start frying chicharrones to make the most of the lard. Check out our recipe. It's delicious and easy to make.
Ingredients
- 2 libras de pork fat
- salt to taste
- water
Instructions
Cut the pork fat into squares, place it in a pot, add salt to taste, and cover it with water.
Simmer until the water evaporates. Stir frequently to prevent sticking. The fat that renders will fry the chicharrones until they become crispy.
Save the lard for other recipes.
