Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of water
2 eggs
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons of dry wine
1 tablespoon of lard (solid)
1 tablespoon of butter
2 teaspoons of salt
1 teaspoon of baking powder
cooked shredded beef
Instructions:
Sift the flour, measure it, and sift it again with the salt and baking powder, placing everything on the work surface. Make a well in the center of the flour with your hands and add the lard, butter, and whole eggs. Begin to combine these ingredients together with your fingertips and pour in the water sweetened with sugar and the dry wine. When everything is well mixed, try to form a soft dough with both hands, kneading it for a few minutes. Let it rest for about an hour in the refrigerator, wrapped in wax paper; then roll it out on a floured surface using a rolling pin also dusted with flour, and shape the pastries in the desired form, but not too small, placing a tablespoon of the tasajo filling in them. Fold the dough, cutting the pastries with a knife or cutter, and press the edges together with a fork dusted with flour, so that when frying them in plenty of hot lard, they do not open.
