- 400 grams of chickpeas
- 400 grams of Swiss chard
- 2 chorizos
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 5 tablespoons of oil
- ½ cup of broth (or water)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Soak the chickpeas overnight. Change the water and soften them in the pressure cooker for about 40 minutes. Check that they are tender, drain them, and set them aside. This step can be skipped by using canned chickpeas. If you choose this option, rinse, drain, and set them aside.
Wash and drain the Swiss chard. Cut it into thin strips. Then make several crosswise cuts to prevent the strips from being too long, which can be unpleasant to eat. Also, slice the chorizos into 1-centimeter rounds and crush the garlic.
In a pot, heat the oil. Add the garlic and let it brown. Then, incorporate the chorizo, and when it begins to release its fat, add the Swiss chard and sauté for 5 minutes. Finally, add the chickpeas, adjust the salt to your taste, and cover everything with broth. Allow the chickpeas with Swiss chard to cook down to your desired consistency.
This dish is delicious, very nutritious, and easy to prepare. We hope you enjoy it.
Enjoy your meal!
