Note:
Tomato Sauce is one of the most commonly used preparations in the foundation of Cuban cuisine. Check out Chef Iván's recipe, inspired by the famous Vita Nuova Sauce. We recommend it because it’s perfect for making the most of ripe tomatoes. Plus, it’s simple, easy to prepare, and has a delicious taste of Cuba. I hope you enjoy it! If you make it at home, don't forget to share a photo with us on our social media.
Ingredients:
- 1 can of 500 ml of canned tomatoes
- 1 can of 200 ml of tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of cumin
- 2 tablespoons of refined sugar
- ½ teaspoon of ground pepper
- 1 cube of chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons of complete seasoning with dried parsley
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
Instructions:
To prepare the sauce, place all the ingredients in the blender. Blend for about 3 minutes until all the elements are fully combined. Once ready, strain the mixture through a fine sieve.
Pour the strained mixture into a saucepan, cover it, and cook over medium heat until it begins to boil. Let it simmer for an additional 3 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
Save this sauce and use it in your favorite Cuban dishes.
