Preparation Time:

Note:
Banana soup is a simple and commonly enjoyed dish in Cuban cuisine. It can be found on humble tables as well as in traditional cookbooks. Some consider it a dish for making the most of ingredients, while other chefs prefer to carefully select the finest products for its preparation. This soup leaves no one indifferent and is very energizing.
Ingredients:
  • 3 green bananas
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1½ liters of broth
  • 1 slice of toasted bread or 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
Instructions:

Peel the plantains and add lemon juice. Slice them into one-inch pieces and boil them in the broth.

Another option is to fry them in hot fat, as you would for making chatinos, then mash them into a paste and gradually add the hot broth, stirring it in to achieve a soup-like consistency.

Add the tablespoons of breadcrumbs or finely ground toast. Let it cook until the soup thickens.

Serve it hot, accompanied by pieces of fried bread or some crunchy food.

Enjoy your meal!
