On Monday, October 28, stores in Havana and Santiago de Cuba open for sales in foreign currency

Next Monday, October 28, the stores for sale in foreign currency in Havana and Santiago de Cuba. The official newspaper Cubadebate He detailed that 13 establishments will be in operation, 12 of them in the Cuban capital and one in the city of Santiago.

From this day they will be sold household appliances, car parts and other merchandise.

Large format televisions, split televisions, freezers, high-end refrigerators, as well as automatic washing machines, ovens, sandwich makers and microwaves will be the first appliances that will be on sale.

Electric motorcycles, batteries, tires and accessories, motorcycle units and combustion engines will also be offered.

In this sense, the aforementioned media said that the opening of eight establishments dedicated to the "marketing of electronics and household appliances" and another five for the "automotive sector" is planned.

The schedule for the sale of electronics and appliances will be 9:30 a.m. a 8:00 p.m., of Monday to Saturday and the Sundays from 9:30am to 2:00pm. For the areas of automotive products will be 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and on Sundays 9:30 a.m. a 2:00 p.m., according to Gretchen Alfonso Pino, Director of Marketing and Development at CIMEX.

The Government of Cuba disclosed on October 16 the merchandise price list and explained the operation of the establishments, where you can buy only with foreign currencies, but not in Cuban pesos (CUP) or convertible Cuban pesos (CUC).

One day before The authorities of the Island announced that more than 70 stores were going to open in Havana and the rest of the country to market household appliances, car parts and merchandise in dollars, euros and other hard currencies.
