Yandy Núñez Martínez, the Cuban mountaineer who wants to make history in the heights, left this Saturday, March 27, forel Everest and is already in Switzerland.
Your story on the social networkInstagram showed the camera in modeselfie who filmed him as he walked along the finger towards the door of the aircraft that would bring him closer to his dream. The glass of this access bridge to the plane showed the waiting landing or, in this case, take-off runway.
The story corresponds to Saturday, March 27, the day he left Iceland for Switzerland. Yandy Núñez Martínez, the Cuban mountaineer who wants to make history in the heights, is already closer to the land of the summits.
On the way to the plane, he marked his step in this new adventure that has just begun. With one clap, he affixed a tricolor sticker to the walls of the glass tunnel. Blue and white stripes, a red triangle and a single star draw the flag of all Cubans, which has now been stuck on the wall of the walkway. Another similar slap fixed the sticker with the Icelandic insignia.
“I swear that I will put our flag, the Cuban flag, at the highest point in the world. Long live Cuba Libre. Freedom", wrote the Cuban on his Instagram profile The Cuban Mountaineer. At the end of the text, it clarified in English that the two flags, the Cuban and the Icelandic, will be together on top of the world.
Two sports briefcases and a backpack make up his luggage. There he carries blankets, a down suit, relief boots and other essential items for his expedition.
From Switzerland you will travel to Nepal and, once there, you must take an internal flight to Lukla and begin trekking (or walking) to the base camp.
Before climbing Everest, Yandy has said he wants to acclimatize his body on another mountain, Lobuche Peak, which is at 6,120 meters. Everything is part of the same map, the same dream, which places him on the route to the top of the world.
Yandy looks excited. He knows that a long and eventful journey awaits him. The entire journey will take you 60 days, from start to finish. Two months of missing his wife and little son; two months of doing without all possible comforts in freezing temperatures and unpredictable weather.
In a recent interview withCyberCuba Núñez thanked the support of all those who have contributed to his journey and those who accompany him, giving him encouragement through social networks. The Cuban said that if he reached his goal,I would put the Cuban flag on the highest peak in the world to which he would also carry a message of freedom.
