Eduardo López Cardoso, the young man who portrays La Flaca Verónica in the humorous videos of Cuban influencer Miguel David Estévez (Las Locuras de Miguelín), arrived in the United States this Saturday.
“Thank you, God, for allowing this reunion... I told you, man, before I left... and now MIAMIIIIIII,” Estévez expressed on his social media while welcoming his colleague and collaborator in his comedy sketches.
A video shared on the Facebook account Locuras de Miguelín captures the moment when Estévez and López Cardoso embrace each other emotionally upon arriving at Miami Airport.
Despite the intensity of emotions, Eduardo, 23, didn’t miss the chance to crack one of his jokes at Estévez (28), reviving their humorous back-and-forth from Las Locuras de Miguelín.
In an interview published in June by the YouTube user Clau_ferzzzz, the young man from Camagüey explained the origin of his character and his friendship with Estévez.
A car accident involving Eduardo, in which he suffered a hip fracture and a broken tibia, strengthened his friendship with the influencer. At that time, they had just begun recording some videos together, long before the creation of the show Las Locuras de Miguelín or the character La Flaca Verónica. From that point on, their friendship and collaborations flourished.
According to the young man, he always took any opportunity to dress as a woman, put on makeup, and wear heels. When the proposal to portray a woman in Estévez's space came up, he didn't see it as a difficult challenge.
Although he acknowledged that initially, his father did not approve of his hobbies and predicted that he would become homosexual, he always felt secure in his sexual identity and was never bothered by others' identity or opinions.
Eduardo never imagined the audience success that Las Locuras de Miguelín and his character would achieve. In the interview recorded in June, he expressed his hope to continue growing as a team alongside his colleagues, and that in two to three years they might be able to perform on television, “whether here in this country or in another.”
"My dream is for more people to get to know me," said the young man, to whom the journalist insisted, "You don't necessarily have to go to another country to pursue your dream."
Eduardo encouraged young people who want to follow in his footsteps to pursue their dreams. "With your phone and your imagination, you can go far," he assured.
"We had the dream of performing live, but Migue left," Eduardo confessed during the interview. Three months later, and without a pound more, "La Flaca Verónica" arrived in Miami and reunited with Miguelín, marking what could be a new chapter in the creativity of both young comedians.
Miguel David Estévez arrived in Miami at the beginning of June after a journey he undertook from Nicaragua. “First, thanks to God for giving me the strength and not leaving me alone... a new life,” the young man expressed on his social media alongside an emotional video showing the warm welcome he received at Miami Airport from his mother, friends, and his girlfriend, Laura Almanza.
That month, the Cuban influencer and comedian José Ernesto González Carnota arrived in the United States, the author of the poem that went viral among Cubans, "Nos vamos pa' Nicaragua."
