There are already 700Cuban doctors hired in hospitals by the government ofMexico, according to presidential information.

“We thank the people and theCuban Government, which is also helping us, because there are already 700 specialists from Cuba who are working in hospitals in Mexico,” the Mexican president reported this Tuesday.Andrés Manuel López Obrador in his usualPress conference morning, known as “La Mañanera”.

The president also assured that in his country's health sector "there is employment", which is why all doctors who want to work in the Mexican public health system continue to be called upon.

He pointed out that they have vacancies for general practitioners and specialists and that it is their desire to leave a free, quality public health system functioning in Mexico for those who do not have social security, before the end of their six-year term in government.

Likewise, he pointed out that the aim is to have a sufficient number of doctors to cover all shifts and on weekends, throughout the country, since "we also get sick on Saturday and Sunday."

At the beginning of this year, the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, an ally of the Havana regime, warned thatwould hire more doctors from Cuba.

The doctors would be destined to work in marginalized areas of that country in the areas of Geriatrics, Psychiatry, Allergology and Immunology, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Dermatology and Gastroenterology.

The objective would be to expand the sending of more doctors to reinforce the contingent of about 610 that has already been working in Mexico since 2022.

Through various strategies to recruit doctors, the Mexican government specified that a new hiring almostwould double the figureof 610 doctors.

At least 1,232 were recruited in calls launched from May 24 to August 20, 2022; and 610 specialists arrived in the nation through the agreement with Cuban Medical Services.

The group sent in March were located in intricate areas of Guerrero, Colima, Tlaxcala, Michoacán, Morelos, Oaxaca, Campeche, Veracruz, Nayarit, Zacatecas and Sonora. Many of these states have the worst violence rates in the country.

In the last week, at least a hundred Cuban doctors arrived in Mexico to join those who already provide services there as part of the health agreement signed between the two governments of both countries.

Marcos Rodríguez Costa, Cuban ambassador to Mexico, announced on his Twitter account that bilateral cooperation "continues to expand", in order to continue increasing the number of doctors sent by the Havana regime from 2022.

"We received a new group of Cuban medical specialists who will join us to work alongside Mexican brothers to strengthen healthcare work in several states," wrote the Cuban diplomatic headquarters in Mexico.

However, this sending of Cuban general doctors and specialists takes place when the island is going through one of its most acute andpressing crisis in its health system, impacted by the lack of supplies, medicines andpersonal.

For his part, this Tuesday on Twitter the Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, celebrated that “for 60 years, more than 600 thousand Cuban collaborators have brought Health to 165 nations in the world. With the arrival in Algeria, in May 1963, of the first brigade from Cuba, the history of medical collaboration in our country began.”

“All the gratitude, recognition and admiration of our people to the Health workers who day after day, in foreign lands, raise the name of Cuba,” Marrero Cruz stressed in the message thread.
