Néstor Pulido Ríos, a neurosurgeon from Cienfuegos, shows people's fear of expressing their discontent with the government. "Raising your voice when necessary is much more civil and brave than complicit silence."

A Cuban doctor composed a song after the protests against the regime that occurred in Santiago de Cuba, Bayamo and other cities on March 17.

Néstor Pulido Ríos, neurosurgeon and troubadour, is the author of Speak softly, be careful, a song in which he describes the reality that is experienced every day in Cuba, where people are afraid to express their discontent with the government for fear of the consequences.

"Raising your voice when necessary is much more civil and brave than complicit silence," he stated in his profile. Facebook, where he shared the video of him performing the song accompanied by his guitar.

The doctor, resident in Cienfuegos, calls on Cubans to lose their fear and fight for their rights.

"Compadre, wake up, they have always lied to us. And for speaking softly, look where we have gone," goes the chorus.

The video has been shared more than 1,300 times.

CyberCuba reproduces the text of Speak softly, be sure.

"There is no one to fix this, same with same.

Speak softly, be sure. I click on tourism.

This is more than a lie, don't believe the story.

Speak softly, asere, I live off the invention.

I want a piece of meat, which I haven't eaten in a while.

Speak softly, asere, a snitch is listening to you.

Compadre, wake up, they have always lied to us.

And to speak softly, look where we've gone.

Let's do something now, let's not mumble,

that if this is delayed, the pain will always be.

Hey brother, this is shit, it hurts whoever it hurts.

Speak softly, asere, I have the chama at school.

Brother, it's too much, there's no one to stand it anymore.

Speak softly, be sure. Let's go heading north.

That idea is not bad, but this is my country.

Here are the ones I love, here is my root.

Damn, let's get together, we can do it.

Speak softly, be careful, they can screw you.

No talking softly, my pain is a scream, of love.

What do you think?
