The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) GOES-East satellite captured incredible images of the shadow of thesolar eclipse this saturday as it crossed the western United States and Cuba.

He explained that the 2023 annular eclipse has traveled from Oregon to Texas and was moving across the Pacific Northwest to the Gulf of Mexico.
He then reported that annulment had been reached in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the International Balloon Festival was being celebrated today.
Images from several Internet users showed the almost exact moment of the annularity when it was sighted from Costa Rica.
Images of the phenomenon have also been published in Cuba, although on the island only the solar corona of the eclipse was visible.
Experts warned that darkness, greater than 68.0%, would remain for at least four hours of the day.
The Institute of Geophysics and Astronomy of Cuba (IGA) reported that theThis Saturday's eclipse will be the largest observed on the island since what occurred on May 7, 1970.
He also warned that the Eclipse should not be viewed without protection because the dangerous ultraviolet radiation damages the eyes.
Annular solar eclipses occur when the Moon is between the Earth and the Sun. At that point it casts a shadow on the Earth's surface.
This Saturday the Moon will be close to its apogee, the apparent diameter of its disk will be less than the apparent diameter of the solar disk. At the maximum moment of the eclipse, the Moon will not completely hide the Sun; a ring of the solar disk can be seen, which is what gives its name to the annular eclipse of the Sun.
A partial solar eclipse will be observed in Cuba. In Havana the beginning will be at 11:55 a.m., the maximum will occur at 1:34 p.m. and the end will occur at 3:15 p.m. There will be a darkening of 68.1%.
