Tornado surprises residents of Pinar del Río in the early morning

The phenomenon caused no victims or injuries, although it did cause material damage to homes, agricultural facilities and a photovoltaic park, and knocked down trees and cables.

A tornado surprised the residents of the Paso Real de San Diego popular council, in the municipality of Los Palacios, in Pinar del Río, in the early hours of this Saturday.

The phenomenon did not cause any fatalities or injuries, although it did cause serious material damage, as shown in images posted on social networks.

The photovoltaic park and the selected V-8 are some of the facilities that suffered damage due to the impact of the strong winds.

The natural phenomenon also knocked down trees, cables and caused damage to homes in the rural area.

The provincial Meteorological Center also confirmed the fall of hail in that territory, as well as at the junction of Los Palacios and the main town.

The authorities toured the affected communities this morning, where they spoke with residents and workers in the area.

Journalist Mario J. Pentón spread on his networks the video of a resident in the area who Through tears, he thanked God that the roof of his house did not collapse. in the middle of the tornado, even though it suffered some damage.

"Look, God is great, this roof did not fall. Look at this, look at the tornado what it did to the house... We were in bed and I was just asking that the roof not fall. Because God is great, no "Nothing happened to us. Oh Lord, thank you, my God!" the woman could be heard saying, crying.

The affected person showed the surroundings of the house, located in a rural area, where the natural phenomenon knocked down trees and electricity cables, and said that the river was swollen.
