The incident occurred after amatch between Cuba and Brazil, in which the Cuban team was defeated four runs for two.

"Several free Cubans attended the stadium to shout freedom in the ball game between Cuba and Brazil. Once the game was over, the Castro delegation, notoriously upset by their team's defeat, ran into Damián, one of the free Cubans who were in the stadium asking for freedom for Cuba," Marcel said.

"In the video you can clearly see how the Olympic and world Greco-Roman wrestling medalist, Mijaín López, hits Damián," he said.

"This is further evidence that the dictatorship exports repression, even in free countries they beat Cubans who use their freedom of expression by telling the truth in the face of Castroism," he stressed.
