Cuba travels to the World Fighting Championship to wash the image of 2022

Led by Olympic champion Luis Orta,a group of 11 Cuban wrestlers (nine men and two women) will attend the world championship that will be hosted by the Serbian city of Belgrade starting in mid-September.

According to what was announced, the four-time champion under the five rings MIjaín López -determined to compete in Paris 2024- will make the trip but will not take part in the competition, where his place will be occupied by the multi-world medalist Oscar Pino.

Orta (67 kg) and Pino (130 kg) are the loudest names in the Greco-Roman style delegation, completed by Kevin de Armas (60 kg), Yosvanys Peña (77 kg), Daniel Grégorich (87 kg) and Gabriel Rosillo (97 kg).

While,the entourage of booksellers It is made up of the promising Yuneylis Guzmán (50 kg) and Milaymis Marín Potrillé (76 kg), who will be flanked in the male sex by Alejandro Valdés (65 kg), Yurieski Torreblanca (86 kg) and Arturo Silot (92 kg).

The Jit site announced that the classical style gladiators will complete a training base in Bulgaria before flying to Serbia, while the others will carry out a previous work camp in France.

How will be remembered, Cuba sent a dozen representatives to the previous universal event, which took place on the same stage, and none managed to get on the podium. Curiously, the best performance belonged to Reineris Andreu (57 kg), who finished fifth and a few months laterleft the national delegation after finishing an event in the Dominican Republic.

The imminent world championshipwill award Olympic tickets to the first five of each division.
