The "Antonio Maceo" primary school in the Cuban province of Cienfuegos caught fire on Monday without it being known so far whether there were any victims.
Parents of several students from that educational center, located in the Hermanas Girald neighborhood, said that the accident occurred due to a motorbike that they were carrying in the dining room.
Other versions claim that the incident was caused by electrical cables that became hot.
Several publications on networks report the incident, but do not confirm if there were any children or workers injured.
The island's authorities have also not mentioned the incident, which sparked panic among the residents of the area.
Videos published inTikTok by user Mulatica Lisley show dozens of people gathered outside the facility screaming. This profile ensures that no children were harmed.
Last year, a primary school in Santiago de Cuba was also evacuated due to afire broke out in a house just one block from the Cathedral.
On that occasion no fatalities were reported.
