A shooting that occurred Tuesday night in the parking lot of Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah forced the facility to close for several hours.
The incident caused at least one injury, a man who received care in the hospital's emergency room.
The Hialeah Police Department revealed that the shooting occurred around 7:50 p.m.
A witness alerted hospital security, who called the police. After the officers arrived at the scene, they ordered the closure of the medical center.

Hours later, authorities reported that the injured man was receiving treatment, but did not provide details on the severity of his injury.
