A 65-year-old Cuban was murdered early last Sunday during an attempted robbery at his residence in the Malvín neighborhood, in Uruguay.
The man who was apparently visiting the South American country was found alive by the residents of the house, however at the Pasteur Hospital he was declared dead. In addition to the gunshot wounds, he also had another stab wound to the neck.
His wife, 54, told authorities that a man entered their house and wounded her husband with a firearm.
The Scientific Police found bloody footprints in the house, which indicate that the murderer escaped through a garage.
The authorities later clarified that the deceased in the crime committed on Alejandro Gallinal streets and Avenida General Rivera, in the Malvín neighborhood, was a Cuban citizen who had a Uruguayan ID.
One of the hypotheses of the crime is that the man got up early to exercise and ran into the thief.
The thief did not take anything from the house and so far they had not reported anyone arrested for the incident.
