A year after being attacked with machetes, Lester Domínguez has overcome many obstacles, but he still cannot walk

One year after being the victim of a brutal machete assault in Holguín, the young man Lester Dominguez Ortiz You can feel proud of having overcome many obstacles, although you have not yet managed to walk again.

Dennis Dominguez, his heroic father, who has tirelessly accompanied him during this time, commented that his son has overcome many of the consequences of that attack, such as the bedsore that appeared on his back, and he no longer needs the mechanical ventilator to breathe.

"We have to continue working on the psychological part so that he is mentally well, since Lester still hasn't been able to take a step", lament.

"Work is being done to strengthen the upper and lower limbs, but they are seen deficiencies in the spine so that it has a correct posture to be able to continue looking for a standing position"he added.

Dennis thanked the health workers in the town of San Germán, where he resides, God and everyone who in one way or another had a hand in the teenager's recovery.

He did not forget in his publication that he and his son suffer from electricity problems and lack of food and medical supplies due to the economic crisis that the country is going through.

"Not even in the 90s was this like this, with the increase in violence and murders, femicides, corruption, bureaucracy. We only ask that you take care of yourselves, because this is getting worse every day: the poor poorer and the rich dividing up the country" , he stressed.
