Cubana tells what she did not understand about Cubans in the United States before arriving from the island

Recharges or salaries are two of the things that this Cuban did not understand before arriving in the United States.

Many times there are erroneous conceptions about life in other countries, especially because many of the ideas are conceived on television or social networks, where reality is not always shown as it is. Or at least that's what TikTok user @laritzaalfaroz thinks, who told some of the things I didn't understand about Cubans who lived in the United States before arriving from the island.

Through a TikTok video, this Cuban resident in the United States told what she did not understand about her compatriots before arriving from Cuba.

"Things that I didn't understand when I was in Cuba about the people who lived here in the United States.First thing: recharges. In other words, when I was in Cuba I thought a recharge costs twenty dollars and everyone has that money.. I was thinking: 'Give me a refill. How can you not do it to me?'" Laritza began by saying in the video, which is circulating non-stop on the social network.

"Number two: salaries. When someone told me that they earned fifteen dollars an hour, I calculated that it was twelve hundred every fifteen days. For me that was a millionaire's salary. But I didn't count taxes, so you never get paid fifteen dollars an hour," he said.

"Number three: I believed everything I saw on social networks. For example, there are people that I knew who came to this country and in a month or two months they published that they had a car, they were going to party, they bought designer clothes and I thought it was super easy," he added.

To conclude this list, he made a reflection with which many Cuban users agree. "I am super grateful to be in this country and to make myself seen and understood. So much Those who are there do not understand what we have to go through to get those twenty dollars a recharge and many of us who are here are to blame for making it seem that those twenty dollars are nothing.".

Other Cubans reacted to this video, agreeing with his words. "You don't understand until you come here and you have to sweat it out and not ask for a refill", "That's the way it is. We all have an idea that it has nothing to do with reality when you arrive and it's small... and even so there are those who don't believe what you say... it's worth it but you have to make an effort", "Totally I agree, now that we are here it is understood", "The same thing happened to me", "I identify with your video 100%" or "You are very right in everything you say".
