New deportation flight arrives with 61 migrants from the US

There were 52 men, seven women and two minors on the flight.

A deportation flight, with61 irregular Cuban immigrants, arrived in Havana this Thursday from the United States.

The group of repatriated immigrants is made up of 52 men, seven women and two minors.

A brief note repeated in severalofficial media points out that “six of them left the country illegally by sea and the rest did so legally and then took irregular routes to reach the US border.”

They also add that "one of those returned was arrested because he had escaped from a penitentiary center, where he was serving a sentence for human trafficking."

With this air operation, there have been three returns of migrants so far in 2024, adding149 people returned in this way.

The first trip brought 37 migrants and arrived at the Havana airport on Thursday, January 25.The second was on February 23, in which 51 Cubans were traveling.

In total, a total of 340 people have been returned to Cuba so far this year, by different means and from different countries in the region, in 26 return operations.
