The rescue was carried out by a Carnival cruise ship when the group of Cuban rafters was near the coast of Miami.

The Cuban rafters rescued on Saturday by a Carnival cruise ship, near the coast of Miami, they will be repatriated to Cuba.

This weekend the shocking images of about twenty rafters sailing in a precarious boat and how they were assisted by the ship Carnival Celebration, in high sea.

After receiving first aid, the migrants were transferred to a boat of the Coast Guard and remain in the custody of the authorities until the time comes for them to be returned to Cuba.

The United States Coast Guard reiterated last week in a official announcement that "maritime borders are not open to the travel of illegal immigrants."

Captain Jason Ingram, commander of US Sector Key West insisted that the "Coast Guard and its partners are committed to stopping illegal enterprises and preventing unsafe sea travel."

He repatriated 308 migrants to Cuba in fiscal year 2024, which began October 1, 2023.

In recent years, several cruise ships have carried out rescue operations for Cuban rafters on the high seas, both in waters near the Mexican and Florida coasts.
