The play has gone viral on Cuban social networks. It happened in the ninth inning, in the Matanzas game against Pinar del Río.

Some baseball fans call it a "controversial play," but most agree that it was a very clear decision, he was safe on base. However, the referee called out.

"Evidentlythe referee made a mistake, but nothing justifies social indiscipline. It is true that the refereeing work in this National Baseball Series has generated several very controversial cases, but neither this social indiscipline in Pinar del Río, nor the fan who entered the referees' room in Matanzas, can we justify it," said Otero.

"Referees make mistakes every day, it's true, butthe solution is not violence. "If every time someone makes a mistake in their profession, we are going to physically attack them, then our society would become a jungle full of wild animals," said the journalist.

The sports commentator from Pinar del Río,Ernesto Amaya Esquivel, also referred to this violent event. He obtained the opinion of an umpire from the National Baseball Series and international events, whose name was withheld for ethics. That person expressed:

"When one fails in a play, 90% is due to being wrongly positioned and the other percent is due to not giving the play time. In that play the referee was not well positioned since he did not look for the corner of the base. He should have been at least one step to his right."

Fans don't understand explanations. They claim on the networks that the SNB organizers have not reviewed the play with cameras.
