Two Cuban women arrested in Miami for preparing a fake car accident to make insurance claims

The defendants filed medical claims for alleged serious injuries in an amount exceeding $35,000.

Two Cuban women were arrested in Miami for preparing a false car accident with the aim of making insurance claims for alleged injuries suffered.

The scammers were identified as María Campos, 54 years old, and Isabela Méndez, 22 years old.

According to the arrest report, to which he had access America TeVe, both acted alongside two other women, named Krystal Arbona and Madison Martínez.

On June 29, 2022, the four staged a fake car accident at the intersection of Flagler Street and 68th Avenue, Miami.

The objective was to present medical claims for injuries to the Doctors Medical Group company, for an amount greater than 35 thousand dollars.

"It is alleged that the incident was meticulously planned to simulate serious injuries and thus justify fraudulent claims," the report states.

María and Isabela appeared before the Penal Court this week, accused of making fraudulent insurance claims. Both will be charged with fraud and other related crimes.

The authorities continue the investigation.
