ETECSA vehicle catches fire after hitting a sidewalk in Villa Clara

There was no loss of life in the accident.

A traffic accident involving a vehicle belonging to the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) in Villa Clara ended with the car catching fire after hitting a sidewalk.

The incident, which left no fatalities, occurred at noon this Thursday on Juan Bruno Zayas Street, between Tristá and Padre Chao, in the municipality of Santa Clara, according to information from official communicator Henry Omar Pérez.

Pérez pointed out that the vehicle – with license plate B 136 354 – “hit the sidewalk and subsequently caught fire.”

Likewise, he indicated that “forces from the Fire Department and the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), as well as authorities from ETECSA itself, arrived quickly.”

“The causes of the accident are still under investigation,” he mentioned.

This Wednesday, An almond tree burned voraciously while circulating through the municipality of San Antonio de los Baños, in the province of Artemisa, according to a video published by a witness.

In the images you can see the vehicle, blue in color, covered by a powerful flare that gave off strong smoke in all directions and made it difficult for other cars to circulate in the area.
