Three Cubans arrested for selling equipment stolen from homes under construction in West Florida

Hillsborough Police arrested three Cubans for selling stolen household appliances of new construction homes in counties on the west coast of Florida.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) deputies confirmed that Alberto Gómez Sardiñas, 32 years old, Jose Hernandez O'Relly, 36, and Yansiel Consuegra, 24, would obtain stolen items from homes under construction and resell them for a profit.

According to police reports, More than $100,000 in stolen property was recovered, which came from homes under construction in the Tampa Bay area, specifically in Hillsborough, Marion, Hernando, Manatee and Sarasota counties, reported Press media.

Sales of the equipment were made at a residence at 819 S. Kings Ave., in Brandon, and at a storage facility at 6207 W. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa.

Additionally, investigators reported that Gómez was also posting stolen items for sale online.

A Gomez are charged charges of dealing in stolen property, in addition to two others illegal use of two-way communication devices and dealing with stolen property through the use of the Internet.

While Hernandez faces charges of dealing in stolen property and grand theft in the third degree, and Consuegra is accused of dealing with stolen property.

More charges are possible, according to police.

“I am incredibly proud of our detectives for meticulously pursuing every lead in this case, which has led to the arrest and recovery of more than $100,000 worth of stolen property,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister.

The officer warned: “We will not tolerate individuals who commit crimes for personal gain through illegal activities. Rest assured that they will be held accountable for their actions.”
