Three years after the disappearance of the minor Maydeleisis Rosales Rodríguez in Centro Habana, feminist platforms on the island urged authorities to issue an official alert for the disappearance of girls, boys, and adolescents in Cuba.
In a message posted on Facebook, the YoSíTeCreo en Cuba platform recalled that "today marks the anniversary of the last time Maydeleisis Rosales Rodríguez was seen, at the age of 16, in the municipality of Centro Habana."
The emotional post states "Mayde, we have not forgotten you, and your alert remains open," while also expressing solidarity with the family, especially with the mother of the teenager, Isis Rodríguez Ameneiro, who has not stopped demanding that the search continue.
We urge the authorities to continue investigating this case and keep the family informed. We reiterate the demand to the State for the urgent need of an official alert for the disappearance of girls, boys, and adolescents in Cuba," the publication states.
The minor was last seen on May 30, 2021, at Campanario and Malecón Park, in the Centro Habana municipality, wearing printed leggings and a gray pullover. Since then, no evidence has been found of what happened to her.
To his mother, Isis Rodríguez Ameneiros, the first thing they told her at the police station was that her daughter had disappeared because she was probably a prostitute. This is something she has detailed to several of her relatives," he questioned.
Last June, Isis Rodríguez Ameneiro, the mother of the missing teenager, said she was very disappointed with the police's work on her daughter's case.
He pointed out that at the time of the disappearance both had the best relationships and that she also got along very well with her dad.
"It has been very hard for me, too hard, very hard, because it is not easy, it is my daughter and all her belongings are here, all her things are here and it is hard for me to get up every day and wonder where she might be, if she is okay, if something has happened, if they are mistreating her, if it is true what is speculated out there, that she is pregnant and does not want to come back out of fear," the woman said, visibly emotional.
