A 76-year-old man identified as Iván Luis López Sera has been missing in the province of Holguín for a week, his relatives reported.
The internet user "Jesús Arencibia Lorenzo" posted on Facebook that Pérez Sera, affectionately known as "Cañón", left his house without identification over a week ago.
Among other characteristics, he said that he is a man "wheatish complexion, of short stature, with vitiligo, limps on the left leg, has a depressed scar on the left thigh, and a right inguinal hernia."
The internet user left the phone number 53390960 for any information about the whereabouts of the elderly man.
Nevalis Quintana Fernández, close to López Sera, said he was a friend of the Tertulias de la Tecla Ocurrente of Juventud Rebelde.
Andante typist, witty and down-to-earth jester, wandering elf of plains and mountains, with a huge heart, has recently suffered the wear and illnesses of his 76 years," he stated in an emotional Facebook post.
He added that "Cañon" always carried a "stick suitcase loaded with magical illusions"; and wrote that family and friends are desperately looking for him.
Reports of missing persons in Cuba have increased in recent years due to the rise in violence, the scarcity of medications for patients with mental disorders, and the emigration that has left hundreds of elderly people alone on the island.
