Pánfilo and his friends went out to enjoy running in Havana, and just before the elderly man fainted from the heat, he was lucky enough to run into his friend Adam.
The U.S. Embassy official in Cuba was also exercising. The characters from "Living on the Edge" were able to clarify some doubts about how to present criminal records at the U.S. diplomatic headquarters.
Adam pointed out that many people forget to submit their criminal records when starting their immigration procedures at the U.S. Embassy. The document must always be certified by the Cuban Ministry of Justice and be within the validity period.
Cuban citizens who have lived outside the island for more than a year must also submit their criminal records but with the data from the country where they were residing.
"It is a very common mistake. So, if the person has lived outside of Cuba for more than a year, they must bring the criminal record from the country where they were living. They can request it at the embassy of that country," Adam commented.
The United States Embassy in Cuba launched the "Migra Legal" campaign in collaboration with the popular comedy program "Vivir del Cuento," to inform citizens about the necessary requirements to successfully complete the paperwork.
In an effort to convey their message clearly and entertainingly, they have taken advantage of the charisma and popularity of the characters from the TV show.
The use of humor and the familiarity of these characters aims to simplify the information and emphasize the importance of complying with all legal requirements to avoid future issues in immigration procedures.
