Texas authorities captured a Cuban illegal immigrant who is accused of various crimes, including trafficking and sexual assault.
Raysel Carrion-Tamayo, 34, was arrested on June 20, 2024 in Del Valle, a peripheral city of Austin, the state capital.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) website, their criminal record includes previous arrests for commercial sex trafficking, aggravated sexual assault, aggravated promotion of prostitution, human trafficking, continuous sexual assault, and inadmissibility of foreigners.
After being arrested, he was sent to Travis County Correctional Complex.
Carrion-Tamayo is the only Cuban among a group of 12 immigrants who entered the United States illegally, committed crimes in Texas, and were being sought throughout the state.
The rest of the criminals come from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.
They are part of a larger list used by DPS special agents to select fugitives who will appear on the list of the 10 most wanted illegal criminal immigrants in Texas," the information specifies.
The Cuban was also arrested on April 3, 2021, in Miami-Dade County, according to police records.
The information does not specify the reason for the detention.
