In an emotional video on TikTok, the Cuban journalist from Radio Independiente, Sonia Felipe, shared her experience after emigrating and living for several years in Uruguay.
The Cuban journalist wanted to respond to a follower's question about why she continued to live in that South American country, and she did so in tears, expressing gratitude for the land that had welcomed her.
Sonia Felipe, visibly moved, expressed that in Uruguay she found freedom, the possibility to express herself, and met wonderful people, something she deeply valued.
"I found people here that are very valuable, worth their weight in gold," he commented, emphasizing the human quality he has found in the country. He also highlighted that in just five years in Uruguay, he has achieved more than he did in 35 years in his native country, Cuba. His testimony underscores the opportunities and freedom he has found by emigrating.
"Here I found freedom, I found the possibility to express myself. Because here I found people who are worth a lot, who are worth their weight in gold. Because here, in 5 years, I have achieved more than in 35 in my homeland," she expressed. She also added in the video, "Grateful to this country."
