Part of the roof of a train station in Cienfuegos, known as the Camarones Stop and located in the municipality of Palmira, collapsed this Monday, an event that reflects the deep crisis affecting the country.

Camilo Venegas Yero reported the incident on Facebook and shared some images sent by Mariolys Fernández, the daughter of Efraín, the projectionist of the iconic Cine Justo: “She notified me shortly after it happened. She herself took and sent me these painful images.”

"After that collapse, I have lost all shelter in my place in the world. Now the only way I have to protect myself there is through words," Venegas recalled, deeply affected by the roof's collapse of a place that evoked nostalgia for him.

In addition, he recalled that the site was built in 1914 by the United Railways of Havana, "the imposing castle-shaped building with two platforms, survived several Cubas and withstood countless gales until it was Cuba that could not survive. Only then did it give up," he noted, denouncing that the site was consumed by the neglect and inaction of the regime.

The economic crisis in Cuba is reflected in the unstoppable deterioration of buildings. Many properties are collapsing, endangering people's lives, while the regime offers no effective solutions to the problem.

Last Thursday, the staircase of a multifamily building collapsed in Old Havana, leaving several residents trapped at the site, as reported on social media by the Municipal Administration Council.

The official source indicated that there are no fatalities to lament, although it did not clarify whether there were any injured as a result of the incident.

In July, a 60-year-old man died as a result of a collapse that occurred in the Havana municipality of Guanabacoa, confirmed Cuban authorities and neighbors of the victim.

The news was shared on social media by the Municipal Board of Directors, which stated that the collapse of the facade of building number 61 seriously injured a neighbor identified as Miguel, 60 years old, who was treated quickly but later died due to the severity of his injuries.

In June, Ismael Ramos Suárez was hospitalized at the Calixto García Hospital due to injuries sustained from the collapse of a building's roof in Old Havana.
