An elderly Cuban who had been reported missing on Saturday has been found safe and sound, according to his family on social media.
Luis Cabrera Rodríguez, 74 years old, resident of the popular council Mangos de Baraguá, municipality of Mella, in Santiago de Cuba.
The elderly man had taken the Holguín-Guantánamo train last Saturday heading to San Luis, but he did not return home, which raised great concern among his loved ones.
The news of his disappearance was shared by his nephew, Lioannis Carbonell, through Facebook, where the family asked for help to locate him.
People mobilized on social media, shared information, and sent messages of support to the families.
Fortunately, this Sunday afternoon, the family was able to confirm that Luis Cabrera is back home.
"My uncle is already home, safe and sound," Carbonell wrote in an update to his post, thanking everyone for their support and good wishes during the moments of uncertainty.
The community showed great support for the Cuban family, and the news of their discovery has brought relief to both their loved ones and those who participated in the search.
